Evaluation
We completed the preliminary task with good teamwork and efficiency. However we failed to shoot the 180 degree angle. This was due to the tight space of our filming location at the time and in future we would certainly want to pick a much wider space for this large shot. In addition to this the shot reverse shot we used wasn't very realistic as each close up of the persons face lasted too long and with no dialogue looked very forced into the task. Next time we would add dialogue to make it seem less awkward and shorten the time of the close up. Also, while filming we shot a couple of the scenes in portrait which didn't fit the preliminary task objectives. In future we will shoot only landscape and if ever making another mistake of filming wrong, we will look over the footage and have time to re-film. Escpeically with actors laughing and having to re film those parts. One final thing we need to work on is the dialogue as it was not very detailed or acted well with people looking at the camera.
But we successfully used both match on action techniques through a close up of a person opening a door handle and shot reverse shot with two close ups and dialogue showing the characters facial expressions. Our wide range of shot types such as over the shoulder and low angle, allow the short film to flow giving lots of different views to the same scene. Because of this filming I have developed my cinematography skills for future use.
