180 Degree rule

In cinematic terms it’s the angle of which a shot is shown. So it’s used during a conversation to show two characters in frame speaking to each other. It’s a good shot as it allows the audience to be more involved in the scene with better sense of location and characters.

Shot/Reverse Shot

Use of continuity editing in conversations or just characters looking at objects. We see a first shot of the character looking, then at the object or person he's looking at, finally back at the character to see his facial expressions. Often linked to the 180 degree rule to carry on the continuity of the location.

Match On Action

One shot cuts to another shot portraying action. The one shot cuts to another view that matches the first shots action. common examples is someone walking up to a door and then a shot of there hand opening it.
